SuperVisa

As of December 2011, parents of grandparents of Canadian citizens or residents can apply for a temporary visa, for multiple entries, for a maximum validity of up to ten years or one month before the passport expiry date, whichever occurs first. The parent or grandparent who has been granted the supervisa can a stay in Canada for a two consecutive years, on the condition of not exercising any work or study.

  • Prove of permanent residency or citizenship.
  • Provide a letter of invitation to the candidate, indicating the following: the type of visa being requested, your relationship to the applicant, your occupation in Canada and a commitment to cover all financial costs related to the applicant’s stay in Canada.
  • Demonstrate that your income in Canada satisfies the minimum requirement for such application.

For parents or grandparents applicants:

  • Possess a valid passport from their country.
  • Demonstrate your disinterest in residing in Canada for more than two years.
  • Demonstrate that you are a parent of a Canadian resident or citizen.
  • Pass a medical examination.
  • Finally, get a medical insurance and repatriation coverage with a Canadian insurer, and an insured capital of $100,000 CAN. for minimum of one year.
